THANKSGIVING

This was an awesome trip. I love the mountains, and the views were incredible. This was taken on Thanksgiving day, and it was really foggy, but still beautiful. The colors on the trees were still so bright, a week earlier they would have been AMAZING! There are so many fun stories from this trip to tell, but Ill be home next week and I will tell you all of them then!!! For now enjoy.

The guy at the Hell Bender Bar let Quinn take the golf cart up to the store! He was a funny guy. The Hell Bender is a road 11 miles long with a total of 318 turns! Guys on motorcycles try to ride it as fast as possible and kill themselves all the time. The fastest recorded time is 9 min. It took us 45 min, no joke.
This is the dam from the movie "The Fugitive" with Harrison Ford, remember the one he jumps off.

This is my friend Kim, she is still the same as she was in high school. I love her to death and we had so much fun on this bridge. I thought it was going to break from Quinn and Tim jumping so much, but hey, it would have made a good story!

Halloween

This was about the extent of our Halloween. Not much to do on a Wednesday night when Quinn has to work and I'm doing homework. We did make Carmel apples, but they were so hard we were afraid to break our teeth! The funny thing is we forgot to take pictures of what our pumpkins turned out like...oops!

No smoking add...

Ok, so if this isn't the best no smoking campaign ever I don't know what is!!! In case you are from the northwest and aren't familiar with what tobacco leaves look like...there they are...in the back of a elementary school playground!!! This was at our first volleyball tournament of the year. I took my girls outside to warm up and when I saw this I couldn't stop laughing. My girls didn't understand why it was so funny. Obviously they are immune to the North Carolina tobacco industry.

The BEST part of NC

Its been a while since we were in the mountains...but I finally got Quinn to put the pictures on the computer! The waterfalls were amazing...and totally unexpected. It's probably a good thing we didn't discover the mountains earlier in our experiance here...or it would have been more difficult to leave! But thats not the case, and we can't wait to get home. Love to you all...Enjoy - Mary
