Crazy life

Hi Everyone,

Sorry it's been a while, I have been sick for the past two weeks. Student teaching is going well, I get along with my teacher and she encouages me to try a lot of different things. Quinn started baseball season, so we have hardly seen eachother in the last couple of weeks. No news on the Mt. Baker job yet, should hear something in a week or so. Keep me in your thoughts.

Ok, Rachel here it is.

"Through Painted Deserts" by Donald Miller. This is a great book, I love anything he writes, and highly recommend it to anyone.

Quinn is reading it now, I'll probably read it again on our road trip home.

Beers and Beaches

We had a good lunch at "Bummz", a cute little place on the beach, accompanied with a few ice cold brews, and a fun trip to the sandy shores. The wind was howling and the waves were crashing but it was a beautiful afternoon. Miss you all. XOXOXO.

Myrtle Beach Marathon

This weekend we ventured down to Myrtle Beach, the capitol of carnival beach/white trash land, so Quinn could participate in the half marathon. We were joined by Kim and Tim Polfer to add to Quinns cheering squad. We arrived at 5:30 friday night to the convention center to pick up his packet for the race. It was great, we got free snacks, and I even got a free beer! Later we made it to our motel, the "Oceanveiw Viking", which was a hell of a deal, $36 bucks a night for three beds, and a kitchenet. Saturday morning we were rudly awakened at 5:15am by two screaming alarms. The race began at 6:30am, which explains the puffy eyes and no make up! Quinn ran well besides the painfully slow start due to all the walkers in front of him. He finished in 1hour and 48minutes and 21seconds...which was capped off by a celebratory beer...curtosy of Tim Polfer. It was a great atmousphere and we were lucky to see him at a couple of points durring the race. I have to say I was sad that I didn't race,after seeing some of the other people I know I would have made it through. I am very proud of my big man, he was hardly breathing hard when he finished! What a stud.

Head First on Sunday!

Why not! Jump into an uncharacteristically fresh looking pond in the conferderate state of North Carolina. A little taste of the civil war becuase I felt I was in battle with unkown submergered "soldiers" that were quite possibly non-existent due to the cylce of drought and intense precipitation that overwhelmed our "lake". They say the itch surfaces weeks later so if I am fallen forever at least I went out in style. Nice is an understatement when describing the weather in "The Creek" today. Mary and I soaked up some rays on the deck, slapped together some egg salad sandwiches and are looking forward to a Super Bowl gathering with my boss (Stan) and his family. I hope all is well and enjoy the snow while it lasts. Love to all!

Random update

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to say I love you all (ya'all), and sorry I've been a slacker on my blogging. Quinn and I have been pretty busy with work and school and just havn't had much time for play. Needless to say we have no new pictures. But good news, I found out about a potential job (fingers crossed) in Bellingham. Its for High school PE with a head volleyball coaching postion, I am beyond excited about it, but also don't want to get my hopes up. So if you think about it, pray for God's will to happen.

I also start my student teaching on Feb. 12, and meet my teacher yesterday. We are going to get along great, she's a energetic little one. Also exciting is that on Feb. 16th Quinn will be running his first 1/2 marathon in Myrtle Beach South Carolina. I think he is going to do great! But after his not so wonderful run today he's feeling a little discouraged! He'll be fine!
