Engagement dinner

I must first apologize for my lack of blogging lately. I can say that we have been busy, but in reality I have had the time to post, however I did miss place my camera cord which means no pics. So we will start here at the place of our engagement dinner. It has almost been two months since Quinn popped the question...crazy how time fly's. We only have 112 days to go! We are enjoying merging our wedding idea's and getting things planned. So far so good, we have made a lot of progress in less than two months. The photographer, catering, cake, DJ, Officiant, location, Dress, flower girls, Save the date cards, dance floor and chairs and lots of other details are all done. Our goal is to be close to finished with all the big stuff by summer so we can play! We already have a ton planned for this summer, with camping at the Olympic peninsula and priest lake, hoopfest with Quinn, Ben, Sean and Jake, Volleyball camps, Montana, oh and the BIG DAY and HONEYMOON! Should be lots of fun.
Well I apologize again for the lack of updating. I will try to stick with it a little better now that I have my camera cord. For now, enjoy the pictures...sorry they are so dark, it was getting late by dinner.
Love you all! Quinn and Mary

MY RING

Here it is!!! I have decided that pictures just don't do it justice. I took this one myself and you can really only see the center stone. If you look hard you can see the pear shaped diamonds on both sides. Quinn did an amazing job of picking it out, and I still find myself in class staring at the sparkle instead of the kids:) You should see it in the gym lighting...Bling Bling!
Last weekend Brook and I drove to Spokane to go dress shopping. I had three stores picked out and scheduled a session at each one. The first shop was Marcella's, which happens to be where Brook got her dress. We went through and picked about 10 out and I began to try them on. I got the first one on and thought it was perfect. But Brook, Rachel and my Mom thought I should keep trying them on just for fun. When I came out in the second one I knew it was IT! I can't tell you all the details because Quinn reads this...but it will be one of a kind. Marcella is doing a lot of alterations to make it my perfect dress. I am so excited to have the next fitting already. I can't believe that I found it after trying on only two dresses. I think my mom was just dumbfounded...I had always thought that it would take me every dress in town to find the perfect one. Guess not! When you know something is right...you just know!
Lastly...we have been putting together our wedding website. It is still in construction mode but feel free to check it out. As more details become concrete we will add to it. So check in from time to time and leave us a note in the guest book.
Love you all...can't wait to see you soon. Mary

WE'RE GETTING MARRIED!!!

Sorry I didn't blog sooner, I can't sign on at school anymore so this is the first time I have had Internet since the proposal. We are beyond excited...and can't wait to spend the rest of our lives together. I couldn't be more elated to be marrying my best friend. We are enjoying all of the planning, we even have our photographer, catering company, dress and decorations picked out. Easy when you have been with the one you have always known you would marry!

I will write more soon I promise, I am at Sean and Rachel's right now watching a movie. I will get a pic of the ring too...it's AMAZING!!! Quinn went above and beyond my expectations.

A River Ran Through US

Monday and Tuesday were the extent of our week back! Due to the down poor of rain and massive land slides school was canceled Wednesday through Friday. Quinn and I had no idea how bad it was until last night. Our house was perfectly fine, and living without Internet or American TV we were in the dark! Here are a few pictures of what has been going on here. Crews have been working around the clock to get roads cleared.

This is a house just past Deming...down the road from school.
This is in Ferndale
This is at Lake Samish...the lake you drive past on your way into Bellingham.
And this is the Mount Baker Hwy...the road our school is on!
Needless to say after we finally saw these pictures last night we figured out why school was canceled! Hope you are all dry and warm at home. Love you all.

Welcome Emmett Gregory McLachlan...aka Paco

Emmett Gregory McLachlan was born on December 19th at 7:59pm. He is 6lbs 11oz. and 20 inches long. He has beautiful black hair and huge feet! Danelle and Geoff were amazing according to my mom...which I am sure she would not make up! We are all so happy for them. This is Mae's first cousin from the McLachlan side, and she analyzed him the whole time!
This is the best picture I got all night. He is adorable! I think he has Geoff's nose. Notice his little hand by his face...that is what prolonged the labor.
Geoff introducing Seamus to Emmett! Not sure how he is going to deal with being #2.

The boy's and their baby's. This is as clear as we will see Mae in a picture, she doesn't stay still for long.

Congratulations Geoff and Danelle, he is amazing and you are going to be great parents.

No more dreaming of a white Christmas...it's here!

This is the view from mom and dad's front window! Yes, that is hanging off the roof.
Me trying to shovel off the snow drifts. The news said you shouldn't be out for more than 10 min at a time or frost bite can begin. I totally believe them. The wind was crazy, when I went in my face was beat red. I had even hit my nose with the shovel and didn't feel it!

Merry Christmas...may we all have a white one!
